Castello Carafa stands at the heart of Ferrazzano, a medieval stone village overlooking the hills of Molise. Built on the remains of an earlier Norman stronghold, the castle was transformed by the Carafa family during the Aragonese period. Its entrance portal, noble coats of arms and internal courtyard still preserve traces of the families who shaped its history over the centuries.

The castle is not simply a monument, but part of a living village.

Its noble floor later became an elegant private residence, retaining original terracotta floors, nineteenth-century doors and shutters, period furnishings and the library inside the tower. Beyond its walls, Ferrazzano reveals narrow streets, stone houses, panoramic views and a strong connection with the rural traditions of the surrounding countryside. Here, history remains part of everyday life, offering visitors an authentic encounter with the architecture, culture and quiet atmosphere of inland Southern Italy.

Explore a land shaped by ancient paths, pastoral traditions and vineyards. In Molise, transhumance, farming and winemaking have defined the landscape for centuries, preserving an authentic culture that can still be experienced today.
